Who's Behind the Van?
Brian Perkins, at the age of 21, joined the Marine Corps as an aircraft mechanic. His aircraft training involved metalsmithing and graphite & fiberglass repairs on helicopter and aircraft airframe structures. He was stationed in Okinawa for one year and then served two tours in Iraq repairing AH-1W Super Cobra and CH53 helicopters for air support for the ground troops and supply lines. He completed his 5 year contract and continued his education and training at Miramar College. He worked towards getting his airframes and power plants certificate to become a certified aircraft mechanic. In the process he worked as an HVAC technician and did some auto detailing on the side for extra money. After realizing that auto detailing was something that he enjoyed and found excitement seeing how pleased his customers were, he then made the decision to peruse the industry more. He attended a detailing seminar at Rightlook, San Diego. Brian then attended schooling at Rightlook for detailing, bumper repair, and paint touch up. With Brian’s attention to detail, metalsmithing abilities, and fiberglass/graphite repair experience from the Marine Corps, he became a very talented professional in the detailing industry. His wife, Mariela Perkins, has supported his business venture since the beginning. Mariela’s education includes a Bachelors degree in Psychology and also a marketing and sales certificate. She runs all marketing and sales for Perks Detailing as well as the customer care. She also is in charge of new business development and research. Together Mariela and Brian create a team like no other, bringing years of education, military excellence, training, customer care, quality, and hard work to the detailing industry.
